Rules for Exhibitors

  1. Entrance fees. All classes 10p (children classes no charge). Exhibitors paying £1 or over in entrance fees will be allowed free admission to the show.
  2. All exhibits must be grown by the exhibitor except in classes 21-26 and 73-94.
  3. All exhibits to be staged between 08:00 and 11:00 on the morning of the show EXHIBITS MUST NOT BE REMOVED BEFORE 17:00.
  4. In class 1 only one entry allowed per exhibitor.
  5. In classes 1-18 farmers, smallholders and nurserymen are not eligible.
  6. All exhibits must be cleaned and trimmed as necessary before delivery to the place of exhibition. All vases, bowls etc., to be provided by the exhibitor
  7. The height of the vase must exceed the width. The width of the bowl must exceed the height
  8. In classes 84-94 exhibits shall not be eligible for competition having gained a previous award in the Association show
  9. Any person who attempts to gain prizes by unfair means will be required to forfeit all his/her prizes
  10. Where there is only one entry for one class prize money may be withheld. The final decision remains with the judges
  11. The judges decision relative to all exhibits will be absolutely final
  12. Exhibitors must leave the place of exhibition by 11:00 am on the show day. Only appointed officials will be admitted until after the judges have finished their task.
  13. All matters of dispute to be settled by the Executive Committee.
  14. All prize money to be paid within fourteen days of the show, or can be obtained from the treasurer between 16:30 and 17:15 in the Entrance Hall on the show day.
  15. Officials appointed by the Executive Committee to any position will be fully authorised to carry out the committee’s instructions.
  16. Entries accompanied by the entry fee should be forwarded to the Show Secretary at least 3 days before the show. Late entries will only be accepted at the Show Secretary’s discretion. Children’s entries must show the age of the child.
  17. The correct naming of all varieties of produce exhibited would be greatly appreciated.
  18. Prizes will be awarded on a basis of points for pence. One point awarded for every 10p prize money won.
  19. The association will not be responsible for any person while in the hall or while entering or leaving same, for personal injury, fatal or otherwise, suffered by such person.
  20. No responsibility will be taken by the Association for damage to the exhibits.
  21. Raffle prizes to be collected within one week of being allocated.
