Trophies

In addition to the money awarded in each class, the following are to be competed for. Cups and trophies being held for one year only and returned in good order prior to the next show.

• The Alsager Gardens Association Vegetable Championship Cup. The Peter Barker challenge trophy is awarded to the winner of Class 1 (Members collection of vegetables)
• The Alsager Gardens Association Members Cup. This is to be held by the member gaining most points in Classes 2-18 inclusive.
• The Wilf Henshaw Memorial Trophy. This cup is to be held by the competitor gaining the most points in Open Flowers, Fruit and Vegetables, Classes 27-68 inclusive.
• The Rothwell Trophy. Is awarded for the highest number of points in the Floral Art section Classes 21-26 inclusive.
• The Dermack Dahlia Challenge Cup. This cup is awarded for the best exhibit in the Dahlia Classes.
• The Ben Warrilow Memorial Vase. This trophy is awarded for the best Sweet Pea exhibit.
• The Les Bullock Memorial Rose Bowl. This bowl is awarded for the best rose exhibit.
• Brereton Cup. This cup is awarded for the best exhibit in the Chrysanthemum Classes
• The Britannia Building Society Trophy. To be held by the competitor gaining the most points in the Needlecraft Section, Classes 84-94.
• The Frank Evans Memorial Shield. This special award will be given to the best overall exhibit in Classes 2-18 and 27-68 inclusive.
• Alsager Town Council Chairman’s Trophy. To be presented for the best exhibit in the Children’s Section, Classes 95-98 inclusive.
• Alsager Gardens Association Prizes. To be presented for the best exhibit in each of the Children’s Section Classes 95-98 inclusive.
• The Dorothy Barnet Cup. This will be presented for the best Needlecraft exhibit from Classes 84-90 inclusive.
• The Edward Hollinshead Solicitors Trophy. This will be presented for the best knitted exhibit from Classes 91 and 92.
• The Vernon & Averil Cooper Memorial Cup. This will be presented for the most points in the Flowers Classes 2-7 and 27-42 inclusive.
• The Geoff Dalton Cup. This will be presented for the best exhibit in the open Class 68 “Collection of Vegetables”.
• The Borough Mayor’s Trophy. To be held by the exhibitor gaining most points in the Open Cakes and Preserves Section, Classes 73-83.
